- Followed Land Rover Track almost to it's end >
- Across the moorside to gain the South ridge and summit of Ben Chonzie >
- Coishavachan
Setting off from Coishavachan.
On the Land Rover Track - this became quite icy in places higher up.
Through another gate - looking back down along the track.
View ahead - Ben Chonzie in cloud.
The track turned right here, but we decided to take a more direct route onto Chonzie's S ridge.
Looking back before striking up the moorland.
View ahead on the broad ridge as it turned NE - final approach section to the summit.
View towards Lawers Group.
View back along the ridge.
Summit photos.
Coming off past a dam.
Notes: Icy on the mid-section of the Land Rover Track, so approx. 5 hours walking time for the round trip. Below zero for most of the walk, but absolutely no wind to speak off. Fantastic blue sky and good views. A great day's walking.
